Dear North Park Student Body,
It is your civic duty to vote for the representatives of your various year’s Senator and the President and Vice President. Here are some reasons why:
- Student Association (SA) controls $160,000 dollars of YOUR tuition money
- SA represents the Student Body of North Park, thus it is more than a popularity contest
- The North Park administration has manipulated and dwarfed the abilities of SA, thus there needs to be a strong centralized President who has the “balls” to battle with the administration
- SA needs to regain respectability among the different campus groups as well as the various publications, as it stands now, there is no relationship
- SA needs to take a stand against the monopolization of the Collaboratory, because it is doing more harm than good for this campus and the students that it represents
- SA needs to reach further then North Park’s idea of diversity, and ensure that its Muslim, and Jewish students have an appropriate place to worship
- SA needs to pressure the administration to be forward looking in class structure, on-line classes, improved professorship, and build a reputation of scholastic excellence
- SA needs to hold accountable various campus groups who take precious funds and waste them on inappropriate expenditures
- SA needs to rebuild the reputation of North Park by setting the example of professionalism that the student body can then look to as an example
- The fact that you don’t believe any of this will work is proof that SA is nothing more than allocators of money, that is unless you vote to have it changed.
Election Results will be posted on the North Park Press website the minute that the polls close on Friday night at 11:59pm
